Hello & Welcome to the Children's Department at Augusta First Church of the Nazarene!!  My name is Katie Rymarz and I am the Children's Ministry Director.  We have many exciting opportunities for your children and for your family to participate in.  Our mission is to help children from the ages of 4-11 draw closer to God and to seek His will for their life.  Thank You for taking the time to see what our church can offer your children!!

Saturday Night Kids Club

Saturday Nights Kids Club is designed to give your kids a safe hangout spot on Saturday Nights.  Each night a snack is offered as well as a devotion time.  There is always lots of fun games to play as a whole group or in small groups.  There have been movies and crafts on "special" nights as well.  The Saturday Nights Kids Club is designed for children 6 years through 11 years old only.  If you have a younger child they must come with a parent.  If your child is older they will not be allowed in the building during these hours.  This is strongly enforced for the safety of your kids.  We also enforce no horse playing or bad language.  If there are any questions please feel free to call the Church Office.  We look forward to seeing you there!!

 

Children's Quizzing

We have a children's quiz team practices weekly for upcoming District Quiz Meets.  The practice times are held each Sunday Evening at 6:00pm-7:00pm.  There will be more posted on upcoming subject matter, quiz meet dates and times, children involved, & awards received.

 

Caravan

So what is Caravan? :            *A character-building program for children, based on Luke 2:52: "And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men." (NIV)\

                                                *A visitor-friendly, kids-club type of ministry designed primarily for mid week services at the local church level.

                                                *A fun, Bible-based environment, where kids learn practical skills in the areas of spiritual growth and Christian discipleship.

                                                *Ministry projects are a major emphasis of Caravan.  Kids are taught how to us their talents and gifs to serve God.

                                                *Skill badges can be earned in four separate categories: Mental (wisdom), Physical (stature), Spiritual (favor with God), and Social (favor with people).

                                                *Searchers (grades 1&2) have the opportunity to earn one or two badges per month, maintaining their interest and enthusiasm throughout the Caravan season.

                                                *Explorers (grades 3&4) & Adventurers (grades 5&6) can earn awards pertaining to eight important Christian characteristics known as Core Values.

Come and join in the excitement of this Wonderful Program!!  If you have children that might be interested in participating, or if you would like to volunteer in assisting with this program please contact the Church Office for more details.

Fundraising

We are having a "Phone Riser".  This is an ongoing event that will help to raise funds for this ongoing ministry.  We are collecting old cell phones that still are in working condition for recycling purposes.  If you have any "extra" cell phones lying around not being used or no of someone that has some "extra" cell phones please drop them off at the Church Office or you can mail them to our church Attn: Children's Department.  If you would like to make a donation as well to support this ministry opportunity feel you can do so by making donations Attn: Children's Department.  Your donation is tax deductible.  Your support is Greatly appreciated!!
